Greater Accra GNAFF Executives Pay Courtesy Call on Indian High Commissioner
Accra, June 5, 2025 – The Greater Accra Regional Executives of the Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen (GNAFF) on Thursday paid a courtesy call on the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Manish Gupta, at the Indian High Commission in Accra.
The visit formed part of the Association’s stakeholder engagement drive to explore partnerships and opportunities that will strengthen Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Introducing the delegation, Regional Chairman of GNAFF, Mr. Vincent Mensah, expressed appreciation to the High Commissioner for the warm reception. He emphasized the importance of forging strong ties with strategic partners such as India, whose agricultural sector is globally recognised for its technological advancement and expertise in both crop and animal husbandry.
Mr. Mensah outlined GNAFF’s interest in collaborations that would facilitate knowledge exchange and training programmes for Ghanaian farmers. He underscored the need for capacity building, logistical support, and flexible funding to enhance productivity and sustainability in the sector.
He further stressed the pressing need for improved access to farming inputs and modern implements to empower farmers and boost yields.
Responding to the delegation, H.E. Manish Gupta commended the executives for their proactive approach and reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s agricultural development. He acknowledged GNAFF’s crucial role in promoting food security and sustainable farming practices in Ghana.
The High Commissioner highlighted the importance of maximizing Ghana’s vast arable lands and advised the Association to give equal attention to both animal and crop farming. He also shared relevant best practices from India and encouraged GNAFF to submit proposals for potential partnerships.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing strong interest in deepening collaboration for mutual benefit.
