GJA Volta Chapter Sworn in New Executives, Commiting to Promoting Inclusivity and Development

The newly elected Regional Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in the Volta Region have been officially sworn into office, marking a renewed commitment to unity, inclusivity, and development within the media landscape.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Ho High Court on Friday, July 11, 2025. The Oath of Office and Allegiance was administered by His Honour Osman Abdul Hakeem Esq., on behalf of the Supervising High Court Judge, His Lordship Justice John Ekow Mensah.

The new executives are:

  • Dr. Harrison Kofi Belley – Regional Chairman
  • Ms. Ivy Priscilla Setordzi – Vice Chairperson
  • Mr. Lambert Kofi Atsivor – Secretary
  • Mr. Freeman Nutsukpoe – Treasurer

Additionally, Nana Kwabena Ntow, the elected Chairman for the Oti Region, was also sworn in as the sole officer representing the Oti Region.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Association, media practitioners from Ho, and other stakeholders.

In his address, newly sworn-in Regional Chairman, Dr. Harrison Kofi Belley, emphasized the importance of unity within the media fraternity. He outlined key initiatives for his administration, including the completion of Phase II of the Volta Press Centre project and the revival of the regional awards scheme.

Dr. Belley reaffirmed his leadership’s commitment to strengthening communication, enhancing regional visibility, and securing national recognition for the Volta media.

He called on all media practitioners and stakeholders to support the new GJA Volta leadership in building a resilient and impactful media environment in the region.
