The National Thanksgiving and Prayer Service is currently taking place at the Ho Jubilee Park, bringing together Christian leaders, traditional authorities, and members of the public to observe this significant day of reflection and intercession.
Theme: “Reflect, Reset, and Renew for National Prosperity”
As part of the service, an offering totaling 3,919 Ghana Cedis will be donated to a local orphanage home, highlighting the spirit of compassion and community support that the day represents.
Speaking at the event, the Volta Regional Minister emphasized the importance of peace and security as vital pillars of national development, stating, ‘Without peace, there can be no meaningful progress or projects.’
A key message delivered during the event focused on strengthening local governance. The aim is to build the capacity of municipal and district assemblies so that public services can become more accessible, efficient, and responsive—especially to the needs of the youth.
In line with national development goals, Honourable James Gunu also called on all stakeholders to support and help implement the vision of President John Mahama, underscoring a shared commitment to progress.
The Minister present at the service encouraged traditional rulers to continue raising their voices in matters of national importance, reinforcing their essential role in shaping the country’s future.
